Amid the turmoil of Taal Volcano, an official from the Batangas Provincial Government acknowledged that the LGU is mulling over the cost of food and relocation expenses for nearly one million displaced evacuees-which could exceed P200 million per day.

There is a significant increase in the number of evacuees who get sick in Batangas, some suffering from cough, colds and fever due to Taal volcano ash.

But no patients are in serious condition.

This is because one of the issues addressed by the local government is supplying the evacuees with adequate medicines and medical facilities.

Such is the case with Bauan Technical High School, which has a mobile nursing home and ample medical supply.

Officials said permanent resettlement sites were already built for displaced evacuees, who used to stay near the island of the volcano.

The PHIVOLCS reported reduced emissions of sulfur dioxide and fewer volcanic earthquakes on Thursday but retained Alert Level 4 on Taal Volcano. Which means a dangerous eruption can occur in hours to days.
