Bring 288 kg Sabu, Three Suspected Drug Traffickers Dead After Shootout With Police

Drug dealers still exist and running their business in towns. The latest, The Jakarta Police killed three suspected drug dealers. From these suspects police confiscated 288 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine during a major drug bust on the Tangerang toll road on Thursday (30/1/2020).
The suspects were driving box van and were being chased by the police. They then were killed in a shootout after the police were able to cornered their box van.
Jakarta Police Chief Insp. General Nana Sudjana confirmed that pursuit. The seized crystal meth, locally known as sabu, he mentioned, it was valued at hundreds of billions of rupiah. Those drugs were stored in hundreds of plastic meal boxes.
“We seized narcotics in the form of sabu totaling 288 kilograms. If a gram of sabu is priced at Rp 3 million, the total value will reach Rp 864 billion ($63 million). This is a staggering amount of money,” Nana said in press conference at the scene in Tangerang.
The box van with license plate B 9004 PHX was going from the Merak Port in Banten to Jakarta. Nana said, that van was in target of pursuit after the police got a tip-off if they carrying crystal meth.
Then, The Jakarta Police’s drug unit sent a team to intercept the van on the toll road, at that time they were spotted in Tangerang. But the driver ignored the police call to pull over and instead accelerated, prompting a pursuit by the officers.

Even though police managed to pull the van over by hitting their car on it at KM 23 around the Karawaci area but the van drove away. The chase continued until the van stopped at an empty land in Serpong, South Tangerang.
Not stopped on that, as they got out of the van, there is resistance from the suspects. One of them opened fire at the approaching officers.
The three suspects identified by initials GUN, AM. and IA. They were taken to the Bhayangkara Police Hospital in East Jakarta after the shootout but they died due to blood loss.
Police also seized the van that they found it came with fake license plate, hand-made guns and three cellphones. In Indonesian law, drug trafficking is a crime punishable by death.
