Day six highlights: Australian Open 2025

Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz began the day six with their commendable performances and the weather condition has also favoured them which set the stage for the high-profile matches. The world champion Djokovic wrapped up his opposite 24th seed Tomas Machac with 6-1, 6-4, 6-4, meanwhile another star player Alcaraz registered his win by overcoming the loss of the third set to Nuno Borges 6-2, 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-2.

The marathon match between Britain’s Jack Draper and Australia’s Aleksandar Vukic finished after a nearly four hour battle. Jack took the side and was forwarded to the next round with the five-set thrilling scores 6-4, 2-6, 5-7, 7-6(5), 7-6(10-8). Germany’s Alexander Zverev also advanced to the next round by defeating Jacob Fearnley. Other notable highlights are,

Paula Badosa, the 11th seed player delivered an upperhand performance against Marta Kostyuk at the Kia Arena 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. 

“I’m always interacting with my coach. He’s the one that’s there with me. Stefanos is just a support. It’s emotional support. But he’s been supporting me so much on that” said Paula.
