Duleep Trophy 2025: Fresh look at format, teams and emerging storylines

The Duleep Trophy 2025 represents a notable shift as the tournament returns to the traditional zonal knockout format, featuring six teams, departing from last year’s four-team model. Matches start from the 28th of this month and end on September 15.

Setting off India’s domestic cricket season, the Duleep Trophy 2025 pits the North Zone against East and Central Zone against North-East in the quarterfinals. The other couple of teams directly enter the semifinals.
