Singapore Travel Alert: New Boarding Rules From 2026 Could Ground Passengers Before Takeoff

Strict Penalties for Airlines and Staff

This new rule states that airlines that do not comply with an NBD may be fined up to SGD 10,000. The repercussions are even more far reaching: pilots or airline staff that intentionally or unintentionally permit an illegal passenger onto the plane may be fined, jailed to a maximum term of six months or both.
