The GoldMedalist Lawsuit warning has come into the spotlight in response to the agency’s announcement of ‘strengthened legal measures’ against online misinformation on October 14, 2026, from Kim Soo-hyun. The statement comes in the wake of a police decision to not take the actor’s Child Welfare Act allegations to court. Now, GoldMedalist is warning that making, sharing, or posting defamatory content may leave social media users liable for legal action.

GoldMedalist Lawsuit Statement Explained

Kim Soo-hyun told reporters that investigators did not have enough evidence to prove that Kim Soo-hyun had dated the late actress Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor. The agency called the claims “false” and promised more action against circulation of the claims. SBS News reported the statement and the agency’s stance on the investigation.

Why Online Commenters Face Legal Warnings

The agency cautioned that posting false screenshots, altered videos, defamatory comments or unverified allegations could lead to complaints. Star News reports that GoldMedalist is looking at cases of repeat distribution and personal attacks and alleged business interference. However, legal liability will depend on the law that applies, evidence and judicial findings.

Kim Soo-hyun Controversy and Investigation Updates

In this controversy, allegations were spread by the YouTube personality Kim Se-eui, who is connected to HoverLab. Kim Se-eui has already been subjected to its own investigation, and GoldMedalist claims that the investigation “shattered the accusations. The agency’s claims on manipulated evidence were Soompi reporting earlier. A police verdict is not a court verdict.

What Social Media Users Should Do Next

GoldMedalist urged users to delete the allegedly defamatory material, but cautioned that there could be potential liability if the content is deleted. The agency is mulling criminal charges and civil damages claims, ChosunBiz reported. All comments must be based on accurate information, should not make statements that are merely allegations, and identify valid criticism from potentially unlawful.
