Google Displays how Ai would take over and run Gmail, photos, G Suite and other products at its annual Google I/O Conference

Sundar Pichai, Google’s CEO in a statement in May 2023 said how his company was trying to incorporate the use of Artificial Intelligence in its various products.

It seems that the tech giant has finally made a breakthrough as per the latest Google Annual Conference suggests where officially Pichai made a statement of applying the Ai models in the company’s flagship search engine and other products.

Risk of Ai Integration in Google Search Engine

He previously even mentioned how Ai presented a hell lot of risks that needed to be taken care about such as spreading false information, digital cloning of voices, and identity theft among other things. Google Inc Search Engine is used by more than 2 billion people worldwide and generated revenue counting to about $175 million last year. Thus introducing a change in the system of operations needed to be taken care of after taking all the precautions. That is the exact reason why Google Inc took a little bit of time in applying these changes, said Pichai.

Ai Integration in Google search and its benefits

On Tuesday, 14th May 2024, Mr Pichai displayed how the new robust algorithm would work in the search engine. He claimed how this would benefit US users in generating information summaries over traditional generative search results by the use of Ai Overviews, a new feature in the search engine that have been added. He added that this would be available to a billion people by the end of 2024 for usage.

In competition with Open Ai’s new updates for the popular chatbot Chat GPT making an upgrade to Chat GPT 4o, Google launched its Ai for search system and Gemini, a family model of interactive Ai chatbot that does quite a few things. The company is trying to make the Gemini model workout complex searches, provide concise summary and key links to users among other things.

The highlight of the feature is Gemini 1.5 Pro is being added to these apps so that the users can take the help of Artificial Intelligence while working. Thus Ai would assist the users in doing their work, Google promises. Gemini after this upgrade can now summarise total email threads and provide contextual smart reply suggestions.

SynthID’s link with video generation

The company rolled out SynthID, a new digital watermarking toolkit to cover Ai generated text from Gemini web experience and videos generated by its Veo generative video model. The toolkit helps embed imperceptible watermarks during the content generation process.

It is yet to be seen whether all these upgrades and features work wonders for the users and how it is received by the general public.
