The increase of DKI Jakarta’s coronavirus (Covid-19) positivity rate to 5.9 percent is the reason for DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to extend longer the transitional scale large social restrictions (PSBB) phase 1 for the next 14 days.

In fact, at the beginning of the transitional PSBB, DKI’s positivity rate touched 4.4 percent even in the second week 3.1 percent.

Likewise with the number of reproduction numbers or Rt virus also increased to 1.15 per July 12. “So far, we have always been under 1. Now it has become 1.15 per July 12,” he said.

The number of Covid-19 positive patients in DKI also has not shown a downward-sloping curve.

The step of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to extend the transitional PSBB got the support from an Epidemiologist, Pandu Riono.

Pandu said the Corona pandemic situation in Jakarta was still unstable.

“That’s the decision that really needs to be made (extend the PSBB). The choice is whether to return to phase 0 or stay in phase 1. That (extension of the transitional PSBB) is a decision that I think it should be taken because we are still unstable, there is still an increase continue, especially the positive rate, “said Pandu as quoted by detikcom on Thursday, July 16.

Pandu warns the DKI Provincial Government to coordinate with the buffer regional governments, such as Bekasi, Bogor, Depok, and Tangerang. According to him, the buffer regions must do the same way with the DKI Provincial Government.

Because they (the workers) from the buffer regions who always go to Jakarta every day. So, according to him, it must be in tune with Jakarta

Then, for the extension of the transitional PSBB, making the Cinema in DKI Jakarta scheduled to open on July 29, 2020, will certainly be postponed.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has stated that it will not open the cinema until an undetermined time. The DKI Provincial Government is still waiting for a conducive situation.

“Yes, that’s right. Postponed until conditions in Jakarta are conducive,” Head of the Jakarta Department of Tourism and Creative Economy Cucu Ahmad Kurnia told reporters on Thursday.

Not only cinema, but DKI Provincial Government has also postponed other indoor activities, such as bowling and billiards.
