Health Officials are Giving their Attention to a Lei Woman that Showed an Antibody after a Test

After latest laboratory tests showed what a 35-year-old Thai woman who completed 14-day quarantine had was a Covid-19 antibody, health authorities have allayed fears of Covid-19 transmissions.

Dr Taweeslip Visanuyothin, spokesperson for the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CSSA), a team of doctors from Ramathibodi Hospital and the Disease Control Department, announced the woman’s test results.

Dr Surasak Leela-Udomlipi, Ramathibodi Hospital’s director, said the woman was tested on Aug. 19 and Aug. 20 and the results from two laboratories were negative. However, her blood test was positive, suggesting that she had been infected at some point but had already produced an antibody against the coronavirus. She did not exhibit any symptoms.

However, doctors suggested that she stay for culture testing at Ramathibodi Hospital to ensure that what she had in her did not spread to others.

Health officials would, in any case, interrogate 24 people in close contact with the woman in Loei and Bangkok, said Dr. Walairat Chaifu, Director of Epidemiology, Disease Control Department.

In any case, health officials would interrogate 24 people in close contact with the woman in Loei and Bangkok, according to Dr. Walairat Chaifu, Director of Epidemiology at the Department of Disease Control.

Dr Taweeslip said the woman was not considered to be a patient because the latest two laboratory tests showed that she had tested negative. Both places that the woman had visited will usually open including a hotel where she stayed in Bangkok, the CSSA spokesman said. The Loei national was one of two cases of new infections with coronavirus following a 14-day quarantine after their return from overseas. The first case was a UAE woman, 34, who arrived in Thailand on June 2 and returned home after being quarantined to Chaiyaphum. On Tuesday, as she planned to go overseas, she tested positive for a non-transmissible form of the novel coronavirus at Ramathibodi Hospital.
