Humanitarian Legacy: UAE’s Foreign Aid Totals AED 360 Billion Since 1971

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has established itself as an icon of humanitarian assistance and development with foreign aid donations exceeding AED 360 billion (USD 98 billion) since it was established in 1971. These efforts have improved millions of people’s lives by addressing poverty, disasters and emergencies while also promoting economic and social growth around the world.

The UAE has promoted humanitarian solidarity as a fundamental national value since its founding. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak has allocated USD 100 million for humanitarian efforts to address continuing issues including 240 tonnes of aid for women, Sudan, $100 million has been committed for conflict rehabilitation and humanitarian assistance and for Gaza Strip, Complete aid activities and medical treatment for 1,000 cancer patients and injured youngsters.
