India Star Jaiswal Exits Mumbai Cricket to Join Goa Ahead of 2025-26 Season

Yashasvi Jaiswal announced a major shift in cricket clubs when he left Mumbai Cricket Association to play for Goa domestic cricket starting in 2025-26 season. The southpaw cricket player sent his transfer request because of personal reasons after he learned cricket skills in Mumbai domestic programs. The MCA officially approved Jaiswal’s departure even though they did not anticipate his unusual decision.

Yes, it is surprising. He had to consider important matters to take this step. We support his demands and formally ended his contract with our organization” stated the MCA official in the interview Wednesday morning.

At 23 years old the player made his final appearance for Mumbai in January 2025 against Jammu and Kashmir in a Ranji Trophy Group A league match. Jaiswal produced poor scores of 4 and 26 for Mumbai after the BCCI set requirements for national players to join domestic leagues.

Goa Cricket Association shows strong support for their new player by letting Secretary Shamba Desai explore possible leadership assignments with Jaiswal.
