nasa astronaut sunita williams plans homecoming visit to india
NASA astronaut Sunita Williams intends to return to India to talk to leaders at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Williams returns to her roots because her father belongs to Gujarat.
During NASA’s SpaceX Crew-9 Post-Flight News Conference, Williams showed great interest in interacting with ISRO astronauts who were getting ready to launch. “I hope and I think for sure I’m going to be going back to my father’s home country and visiting with people and getting excited about the Indian astronauts who’s going up on the ISRO mission coming up,” Williams declared.
Williams returned from space after a nine-month visit to the International Space Station and described her special view of India from space. She pointed out that India has impressive natural attributes since you can see both the Himalayas and the ocean formation between plates.
“India is amazing. Every time we went over the Himalayas- we got some incredible pictures of the Himalayas- so just amazing. Like I’ve described it before just like this ripple that happened. When the plates collided, and then as it flowed down into India. It’s many, many colors”. Sunita Williams said.
Williams strongly supports India’s space programs as she views it as a democracy that successfully joins important nations in space exploration. She wants to speak about her space research to all Indian residents throughout her trip here.
Williams responded with a smile by confirming that she would take her team along but would first give them spicy Indian food to prepare them for the journey.
