Kuching to Host Malaysia Pickleball Grand Slam 2025 with $22,680 Prize Pool

The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents starts a new era in pickleball by launching the Malaysia Pickleball Grand Slam 2025 tournament. Pickleball matches for MPG 2025 will be played at Kuching Sarawak from October 7 to 20 2025.

Participants worldwide may start registering on May 1 when the official website launches its services. Malaysia shows its greatest support for pickleball to date by offering a $22,680 prize pool for this major national event.

As the leading organizer, MATTA holds its inaugural major pickleball tournament with direct backing from the Malaysia Pickleball Association. Through an official Memorandum of Understanding, both organizations started working to boost pickleball popularity all across Malaysia while building it into a top sports vacation destination.

In July 2024 the city of Malaysia began registering associations for Pickleball which gained popularity within the sports scene. During these last three months only the sport gained substantial new players across its ranks.

The tournament structure includes:

  • Team Event (October 7-13): Featuring 64 teams with 12 players each
  • Individual Events (October 15-20): Targeting 320 participants in the Open category and 192 in the Junior category
  • Multiple categories, including men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles, across various skill levels and age groups

The Grand Slam will host over 1,350 players and more than 2,600 spectators who can watch both amateurs and pros compete to make pickleball more popular in Malaysia.
