Malaysia Trending Again: Drake’s Controversial Lyrics Shake Social Media

Once again, popular rapper and artist, Drake, is the center of a social media mess.

When it comes to this specific instance, it is his lyrics that have caused a fire to spread around the internet, notably in Malaysia, for that matter. One of the most recent diss tracks that Drake has released is titled “The Heart Part 6,” and it contains a reference to the tragic aircraft MH370, which has resulted in a voluminous amount of responses.

The lyrics in Drake’s song, which say, “I’ll slit your throat with the razor and do Rick Ross Air like that one flight from Malaysia,” have elicited a broad range of emotions from a number of individuals.

These emotions have been expressed in response to the lyrics. Despite the fact that there are fans who appreciate the wordplay, there are other fans who are worried that Malaysia is trending for the wrong reasons, which brings back terrible memories of the MH370 incident.

Social Media’s Swift Backlash

People on the internet have voiced their dissatisfaction with the rapper’s use of phrases on a number of platforms, including X, and they have expressed their dismay in the rapper’s behavior.

Some people have expressed their dislike of the song’s taste, while others have urged for a stronger display of empathy as a reaction to the tragedy.

As a result of the two going back and forth in their songs against one another, there have been charges of addiction as well as other personal assaults that have come to light. These allegations have made their way into the public knowledge. An escalation in their continuing battle is being seen as having occurred with Drake’s most recent single, which was released not too long ago.

Drake’s contentious songs have once again drawn public attention to the impact that superstars have on social media.

There has been worry about how well-known people’s remarks affect both the general public discourse and a society’s collective memory. The fact that Malaysia is becoming more and more well-known for reasons not often recognised globally highlights these problems.
