(C) Mishal Husain
BBC listeners had an emotional morning on December 17 as top presenter Mishal Husain ended her 26-year career at the company. She led multiple general election debates this year and hosted Today for 11 years on Radio 4.
Husain joined the BBC back in 1998. The 51-year-old has finally concluded her career at the broadcaster. Her final day included a tear-jerking moment featuring a montage of her most memorable moments.
Joining her co-presenters and former Today hosts, Husain shared sentimental remarks about her time at the company and used a heartfelt song that best captured her emotions on her final day in the end.
The top journalist expressed her gratitude to all her BBC colleagues across the UK and around the globe, in addition to the listeners. Speaking about her reasons for leaving this year, she admitted she ultimately felt as though it’s “time for me to do something else.”
