Monster Season 4 Cast: Who Plays Lizzie Borden?
Ella Beatty Leads The Lizzie Borden Story
Ella Beatty is the star of Lizzie Borden. An established cast of Vicky Krieps, as Bridget Sullivan, the Borden family’s live-in maid; Charlie Hunnam, as Andrew Borden; and Rebecca Hall, as Abby Borden, join her.
Billie Lourd stars as Emma Lourd, Lizzie’s older sister, and Jessica Barden has Nance O’Neil, the actress. Netflix’s Media Center also confirms Sarah Paulson as being among the main cast members.
It’s especially interesting to note Hunnam’s cameo appearance, as he has previously had the chance to portray Ed Gein in Monster Season 3, and get a whole new look for himself in the anthology helmed by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan.
What Is Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story About?
Netflix’s new Lizzie Borden is based on the infamous killings of Andrew and Abby Borden in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1892.
In June 1893, Lizzie was arrested and tried for the murders, which were acquitted. No one else ever ended up in jail for the crime, and it remained unsolved, contributing to the case becoming a part of American popular culture. Historic newspaper material of the arrest and trial is preserved in the Library of Congress.

Netflix’s version won’t just recreate what happened in court. It’s official synopsis focuses on two women caught in a repressive family setting, themes of power, repression, revenge and female rage.
The Smithsonian has studied the history of the Borden trial, and for more background, these are some of the ways in which gender, class and social expectations affected the public’s view of Borden’s trial. Read Smithsonian’s Lizzie Borden history feature

Why Is Sarah Paulson Playing Aileen Wuornos?
One of the biggest surprises in Monster Season 4 is Sarah Paulson as Aileen Wuornos, whose crimes were nearly a century after the Borden case.
The season will focus on Wuornos and expand the show’s look at infamous women, but doesn’t imply a true-life connection between the two, according to Entertainment Weekly. The creative focus allegedly involves the nature of female violence and aggression, anger and criminal notoriety in the eyes of society.
