The Philippines, already with its set of challenges, has been plagued with a new enemy: the extreme heatwave. Gone are the days where Filipinos had experienced the cold and rainy weather as the heatwave had officially started on March 21, 2024.
As the temperature continues to increase drastically, the country is enduring an exceptionally high heatwave until at least mid-May.
Given this situation, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has issued various safety advisories that are related to the management and mitigation of the extreme heatwave at work. Measures included are the following:
The Philippines now facing this extreme threat must stand cool with its ready-made precautions as they tackle this heatwave; it more so highlights the need for climate resilience, adaptation, and public awareness.
