Guess Who is the No.1 All-Rounder for a longer period in Test cricket?

The 36-year old Indian cricketer, Ravindra Jadeja has garnered the glory of becoming the No.1 all-rounder in the Test rankings of ICC for a longer period of time, since March 2022. As per the given information, he bagged that position by replacing the West Indian all-rounder Jason Holder. Jadeja is fondly called as ‘Jaddu’ debuted into ODI and T20 career in 2009 and in 2012 for the Test cricket format.

Why is Ravindra Jadeja the best all-rounder in the World?

  • Jadeja has given the impact in the game of any format he appears both with the bat and ball.
  • He is among the one of the finest fielders in the Indian team who is swift and keen on stopping the opponents with his extraordinary skills.
  • As a slow left-arm bowler, he has the consistency to bowl economically.
  • He has emerged as a legendary all-rounder with 2500+ runs and 250+ wickets in the Test format.
  • He surpassed the record of former Indian skipper Kapil Dev’s record and registered his 175* as the highest score by an Indian as no.7 batsmen in tests.
  • He often plays at the no.7 or 8 in the batting lineup of the test team.
  • Stepping down on the crease as a lower-order batsmen, he still had created several records with his unforgettable 50s and built partnerships in overseas land like England, Australia, West Indies, and South Africa.
  • Jadeja has registered 5 wicket haul and 50+ runs in the same test several times.
  • He reached 200 wickets in tests in just 44 matches as an Indian player.
  • One of the unique records of Jaddu is that he is the only Indian left-arm spinner with 200+ wickets in Test cricket.
  • His spot on throw is an iconic moment in cricket history, which changes the momentum of the game completely.
  • Jadeja remains an inspiration to the upcoming generation for his impossible catches and reflexes on the field, whether it is at slip, point or deep mid-wicket. He becomes the one man show on the field.

The world is moving faster and the fandom over the T20 is rising significantly across world cricket. But the real battle and the try out for any cricketer is the “Test Cricket” format. And the complete cricketers like Ravindra Jadeja are setting the milestone for the future generations to achieve more than that.
