Bridging Mind and Machine: Elon Musk’s Neuralink Launches Brain Chip Trial in UAE

All eyes are now turned towards the Middle East, after the buzzing real-time announcement has been dropped on the social media pages of Elon Musk’s Neuralink, stating that they are going to carry out their first clinical brain chip trial in UAE. This is seen as a bold leap initiative towards the futuristic healthcare chosen by Neuralink and their primary implementation in Abu Dhabi for its first international trial, UAE-PRIME.

What will happen during the trial?

During the trial, which is partnered with the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and the Department of Health, they will explore the brain-computer interface technology. They will carry out this initially for the individuals with severe motor and speech disabilities, and tiny, implantable brain chips will be used to decode neural signals. This will foster the individuals to control their digital devices and they can communicate easily by using only their thoughts. It is a ground breaking technology yet, Neuralink is more concerned about the safety, functionality and effectiveness of this trial, while it is conducted at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. The ultimate aim of this mind blowing technology is to revolutionise the medical plight that deals with the individuals with neurological disorders with a new ray of hope that could change the entire world if it all goes successful.

Neuralink

Neuralink, is a company founded by Elon Musk and they develop primarily the brain-computer interfaces which can connect the human mind with the machines. Previously, they have successfully implanted the chip in their first human, a paralyzed patient and they enabled thought-controlled cursor movement too.
