Singapore Badminton Open 2025: The Indian duo is nearing the historical moment by defeating World No.1 duo!

The World No.1 duo of Malaysia Goh Sze and Nur Izzuddin was defeated by the dominating performance exhibited by the highly hoped Indian duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty during the Quarter Finals which took place today. It was an electrifying straight game victory of 21-17, 21-15 registered by Satwik & Chirag duo and they have now entered into the semis.

“Really happy with the way we played over the past couple of days. And looking forward to tomorrow now.” said Chirag after the match.

It was both an emotional and a honourable moment for both because they are returning to such a big tournament after a terrifying injury dealt by Chirag during their pivotal match at All England Open Badminton Championships. About which Chirag mentioned during the post match session,

“Every day I’m getting better. We didn’t really know how and if we would be able to play in Singapore because, frankly speaking, we just trained for 10 days in a span of two months”.

Tomorrow, (31 May 2025) Satwik and Chirag will encounter another Malaysian duo A.Chia and W.Y.Soh in the Semi-Finals at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
