Shin Dong Yup parts ways with SM C&C after 11 years

Shin Dong Yup, a South Korean comedian and television comedy show host, will part ways with SM C&C, after 11 years of signing a contract with the entertainment label in 2012.

Shin Dong Yup’s current contract is set to expire this year. Reportedly, Shin Dong Yup is currently looking to establish his own label. 

After holding a meeting, the final decision was reached on mutual agreement. SM C&C (SM Culture & Contents), a South Korean advertising, production, travel and talent company under SM Studios, agreed to part ways with Shin Dong-yup. On July 14, SM C&C said, “Our exclusive contract with Shin Dong Yup has ended.” 

Shin Dong Yup has been a popular comedian since his debut in 1991, first signing with SM C&C back in 2012. He has done a variety of shows in his career. He has appeared as a host for ‘My Little Old Boy’, ‘Immortal Song’, ‘Amazing Saturday – Doremi Market’, and ‘TV Animal Farm’. He became extremely popular after doing ‘Happy Saturday’ and MBC’s sitcom ‘Guys n Girls’.
