Shizuka Ishibashi has been roped in as lead for NHK’s Morning Drama ‘Blossom’

Shizuka Ishibashi is all set to star as the lead in the upcoming morning drama of NHK’s “Blossom” and it has been scheduled to premiere in fall 2026. Based on the given information the series will follow the story of Tama Hano, a character which is inspired by renowned writer Chiyo Uno. This drama will chronicle her journey from Yamaguchi Prefecture to Tokyo during the Taisho and Showa eras. 

Tama emerged as a celebrated writer by overcoming a series of personal and societal challenges. This brand new drama will be crafted with a rich, emotional narrative wrapped with Ishibashi’s terrific performance which is yet to be witnessed.

“I’m very happy to think that I can delve into such a wonderful person over such a long period of time. I want to make a work that makes people all over the country think” said actress Shizuka Ishibashi. 

Shizuka is known for the acclaimed dramas which includes ‘Tokyo Night Sky is always the densest shade of blue’, ‘Towako Omameda and her three Ex-husbands’, ‘Tezuka’s Barabara’, and ‘Tokyo Love Story’.
