Singapore travel advisory 2025

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Singapore has upped its travel warning for Singaporeans by advising against travelling to Jammu and Kashmir in India as well as Pakistan since the relations between the two countries are threatening to sour at a particular moment.

This one expands on the prior travel warning that was only valid for “high-risk areas” in Pakistan which was posted on April 30. The new guidance also raises worry on areas of divide between the two countries and focuses on border areas.

Holders of the Singaporean nationality are hereby advised that if they are currently in either of the countries, then they should:

  • Stay alert and ensure to take the relevant safety measures.
  • Large crowds and socially crowded places should be avoided.
  • Monitor local news developments closely
  • Follow instructions from local authorities
  • Register with Singapore’s eRegistration system

This has greatly affected the travel networks within the region since there is increased tension. Some of the prominent Asian carriers flying into Pakistan this week have canceled or rerouted more than 50 flights to and from the country.

Companies of travel agents based in Singapore have started reviewing their packages to the affected areas, especially the popular centres in Jammu and Kashmir as well as a number of places in Pakistan.

It also urged the Singapore citizens to know that consular help is for Singapore citizens living in India and Pakistan for those who feel unsafe during such tension.
