The Asian aviation industry is on a flurry of cancellations this week as Asia flight cancellations have been rampant and have caused havoc to routes between Singapore to South Korea. Long-haul and regional connectivity have been impacted as major airlines have cancelled more than 40 scheduled flights. Among the worst affected are travellers who are going to London, Sydney, San Francisco, Jakarta and Jeju. These Singapore flight delays and cancellations reflect the accumulating operational pressure throughout Asian travel networks. Customers are encouraged to keep abreast with airline news. In such a hectic schedule, flexibility and real-time information are needed by travellers who have to cope with such circumstances.
Singapore Changi Airport has emerged as a hub of Singapore to South Korea travel disruptions, and a number of cancellations have been experienced on long-distance flight routes and regional flight routes. Some of the cancellations are BAW16 to London Heathrow and BAW15 to Sydney as well as QFA38 to Melbourne and SIA34 to San Francisco. AWQ263 to Jakarta- Soekarno Hatta is also a regional cancellation.
These increases in Singapore flight delays illustrate the increasing strain on Asia-Pacific air systems. Airlines are also encouraging travellers to be on constant check of changes in schedules, so as to control boarding problems, rescheduling and changes in tickets.
Hong Kong International Airport keeps fighting heavy cancellations in the Hong Kong flights on the key routes of the region. The movement of passengers heading to Al Maktoum International, Kaohsiung and Yinchuan Helanshan has been affected.
Airlines are in the process of rebooking travellers, and so few seats and seasonal demand are making it harder. To most people, switching of routes might involve making a stop in other Asian airports like Singapore or Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia has been registering high levels of Kuala Lumpur airport disturbances, which impact both local and international travel connections. The flights in Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching have been cancelled along with the flights into Jeddah, Guangzhou and Tokyo Haneda.
Asia flight cancellations are also prevalent in Indonesia and mostly the Jakarta-Soekarno Hatta, and Bali Ngurah Rai routes. Local flights to Yogyakarta, Komodo and Sultan Hasanuddin have been cancelled, disrupting the tourism and business travel activity in the region.
Vietnam Air has also experienced cancellation on flights between Cam Ranh and Novosibirsk as well as Hanoi to Luang Prabang flights. There are also intense cases of Singapore to South Korea travel disruptions reported in South Korea especially to Jeju bound travellers. Airports in Busan, Gimpo and Incheon have even experienced flights called off to Taiwan Taoyuan, Atlanta, Minneapolis-St Paul and Kansai airports. These disruptions fall under broader Asia flight cancellations of air routes throughout the continent.
Passengers affected by Singapore to South Korea travel disruptions are advised to:
Such traveller inconveniences as Singapore flight delays, Hong Kong flight cancellations, and Kuala Lumpur airport inconveniences underscore the importance of active planning during travelling in Asia.
