The 2027 Honda City facelift has been spotted testing in heavy camouflage, mainly in markets like Brazil. Some of these early photos are starting to appear in Indian auto circles. While the test mules are covered to conceal most details, the images indicate that this update will emphasize sharper styling, a more modern front design, and a few new technology-focused features instead of a complete redesign.
Spy photos show a new front grille design, probably inspired by the latest Honda Civic sedan. This change gives the City a more premium, connected “solid-wing” appearance. The bumper is expected to be more sculpted and sporty. It will feature updated fog-lamp housings and a subtly bolder lower intake. At the back, the tail lamps will likely remain LED-based but may have a slightly modified internal layout. The bumper and reflector positioning might also be adjusted for a cleaner, more modern look.
Inside, the 2027 facelift is expected to keep the current City’s spacious layout while improving materials and adding a few extra features. Reports suggest the car could have an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker audio system, and ambient lighting. It may also include a 360-degree camera and ventilated front seats on higher trims. Safety could improve with ADAS-style tech like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring, depending on the market.
The mechanical heart is expected to remain mostly unchanged. The current 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and e:HEV hybrid powertrains will continue to power the City in many markets. In India, this facelift should arrive around 2027 and aims to stay competitive against new rivals like the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and VW Virtus by refreshing its design and technology.
Current reports suggest the updated City should arrive around 2027, shortly after its global debut.
Yes, Honda is expected to continue offering its e:HEV hybrid alongside the conventional 1.5‑litre petrol engine in key markets, including India.
Expected upgrades include a revised grille, sportier bumpers, possible 360‑degree camera, ventilated seats and advanced driver‑assistance features, depending on variant.
