Defence Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said on a report that Malaysians who commute everyday to work in Singapore will be provided housing quarters by the Singapore Government during the two-week period of the movement control order (MCO).

Among the matters agreed between Singapore and Malaysia, Malaysian workers are required to take Covid-19 health screening upon their return home.

The two countries also discussed to have two joint committees of which would be chaired by defense ministers of both countries.

Another committee was established, which is the working committee, to be headed by Malaysian foreign ministry secretary-general and his Singapore counterpart, including secretaries-general.

According to Ismail, since the daily travel of Malaysians to Singapore is through the Johor entry point, the Johor government would be involved. He added that the transport of food products will continue except that the drivers will be screened each time they enter and exit the country.
