Tekken 8’s Season 3 begins with the v3.00 update on March 17, 2026. It focuses on “Refined Balance” to maintain aggressive play while reducing extremes. This patch reduces Heat system exploits without changing the game’s core philosophy.
Heat Smash no longer causes wall splats on hit. This change reduces its excessive damage and combo potential that dominated Season 2. Character-specific power-ups, like Claudio’s Starburst, now end when Heat runs out. This prevents ongoing pressure after the timer expires. These adjustments encourage smarter Heat usage instead of just spamming.
Individual fighters receive specific updates. For example, Raven gets new moves such as SZ3+4 and better Heat regeneration, making him a mix-up threat. Alisa, Armor King, Asuka, and others experience adjustments to their movesets. This means buffs for underdogs and nerfs for stronger characters like Jin and Devil Jin. These ongoing changes are supported by the new TEKKEN Dev Feedback Portal (Beta), which allows for player input.
Rank matches reset globally. God of Destruction players drop to Tekken King for fresh starts. Matchmaking improves with sub-character rank changes that better match skill levels. There are also adjustments to rank point gains and losses. Rematch bonuses encourage rivalries.
Bandai Namco has launched the TEKKEN Dev Feedback Portal (Beta). This allows players to submit bugs and balance reports, along with videos and images. Approved posts go to a dedicated Discord for community input, which is separate from the main server. This supports ongoing improvements.
Expect new items, sales, and improvements like adjustments to Heat regeneration. The roadmap extends through 2027 with DLC characters.
March 17, 2026, with full patch notes the same day. Rank reset hits online modes immediately.
No wall splat on Heat Smash; power-ups end with Heat. Rewards high-risk play less.
