The 13th month of release staff compensation for the one month without job because of NCR quarantine

The government has recommended employers release the 13th month salary of employees who would be affected by Metro Manila’s one-month community quarantine.

Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez, likewise, said it will compensate for the one month they won’t be able to return to work paying out workers ‘ 13th month salary.

In addition to granting workers their 13th month salary, Año has urged employers to change work schedules, implement flexible practices and encourage workers to use their leave credits and other privileges.

As part of community quarantine steps to contain COVID-19 spread, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will enforce a curfew in the National Capital Area.

The Metro Manila will have a curfew from 8 p.m. effective Sunday, March 15. Around five a.m.

The curfew is set to last until 14 April.

On Thursday the government raised the Code Red Sub-Level 2 alert due to the country’s increasing number of COVID-19 infections.

As part of community quarantine in Metro Manila, President Rodrigo Duterte announced tougher measures to fight the spread of COVID-19 including work and class suspensions as well as travel restrictions.
