The fifth prisoner exchange took place on 6 May 2025 between Russia and Ukraine involving 205 prisoners and it is the 64th exchange since the outbreak of this conflict which dates three years ago. These humanitarian initiatives of UAE highlights the powerful demonstration of their growing role as a ‘Global Peace Broker’ by successfully mediating for the prisoner exchange more than sixty times. All these landmark events are officially confirmed by the authorities of both countries.

Amid such a battlefield which is full of anxiety and marked by prolonged hostility, the diplomatic involvement of the UAE resonates with its commitment to humanity and peace and their ability to engage the powers of both Eastern and Western along with their credibility. The UAE has proven them as a powerful and a valuable mediator through their repeated and focused efforts on discreet negotiation. The multiple prisoner exchange has been successful with their balanced bilateral relationship that bridged with the nations like Russia, Ukraine and Western allies. As of now, more than 4500 prisoners have been exchanged between the two nations Russia and Ukraine under the mediation of the UAE. This 64th exchange is yet another example of the effective and diplomatic reputation of UAE as a trusted nation who prioritises peace, people and neutrality on the world stage.
