Under-construction bridge collapse in South Korea kills 2 people, injures 5 others
In a tragic incident in South Korea’s Cheonan, south of the capital Seoul, on Tuesday, at least a couple of people died and 5 others sustained injuries after an under-construction bridge collapsed, according to a report by Reuters. The accident happened around 9:49 am as multiple steel structures supporting the bridge collapsed one after another, reported Yonhap. The media agency had earlier reported deaths of three people from the incident. But the national fire agency of South Korea later highlighted that there had been a couple of fatalities from the accident and 5 others got injured – adding that 4 of the injured remain in critical condition. The administration is also reportedly searching for another three people as they are apparently buried under the debris after the bridge collapsed. South Korea’s acting President Choi Sang Mok’s office said to mobilize all resources to rescue any missing person.
