BLACKPINK’s Lisa has just announced her personal feature documentary “Always Lalisa”. The actors will portray the K-pop star as she embarked on an era-changing journey of creating her own business and diversifying to acting while carving a niche as a soloist.
The 97-minute documentary is being produced by Sony Music Vision in collaboration with LLOUD, and is directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Sue Kim. It’s an inside scoop on how Lisa got where she is now in her dreams prior to BLACKPINK’s expected group comeback.
‘Always Lalisa’ Sets October Global Cinema Release
Always Lalisa will premiere in Toronto on September 11, 2026 at the Toronto International Film Festival. After celebrating at the festival, the film is to be released in cinemas globally between October 12 and Sony Music Vision and Trafalgar Releasing.
The film is set for a limited release, which will also include IMAX screenings. Tickets will go on sale September 9 and will be available via a global streaming release on YouTube Premium in the remainder of the year.
The release allows viewers to witness Lisa’s career outside of the lights of the stage, especially when she was turning around her professional path.
From LLOUD to the Global Stage
The bulk of the documentary highlights Lisa’s departure from her previous management deal with YG Entertainment to form LLOUD CO. This is the story line of her entrepreneur career helping her gain more control in her solo career.
Additionally, the film has made note of a few big achievements in her career, such as performing her solo at Coachella, her acting debut with HBO’s The White Lotus and her appearance related to the Met Gala. Those are moments that show Lisa has become more than a musician, she’s an entertainer and fashionista.
Also, the documentary will be bringing more personal material like a couple of unauthorized visits to Thailand, with long-time friends. That very thing might leave more opportunities for those who follow her around the globe, to get to know the woman behind the joint global celebrity.
