Dubai has proven to be a resilient economy in the face of the on-going geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East region. Sustained international interest in the emirate’s financial sector, technology infrastructure, population recovery and luxury property market are driving continued business interest.
Despite some obstacles in the region, Dubai’s financial centre experienced strong business growth in the first half of 2026, according to a La República report.
Dubai Financial Centre Reports 30% Growth in Registered Companies
During the first half of 2026, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) had 10,018 active registered companies, which is 30% higher than the number of registered companies in the same period in 2025. The expansion further solidifies Dubai’s reputation as a regional financial hub and solidifies its position in the international business landscape by offering established financial services, regulatory frameworks, and access to global markets.
Investor Confidence and Population Recovery Support Economic Activity
In March 2026, Dubai’s population experienced a temporary drop due to local conflict, but activity slowly returned, leading to an increase in residents. The emirate’s international connectivity, the business opportunities it offers and its quality of life infrastructure remain to enhance its appeal. But not all sectors have been spared of the impact of geopolitical uncertainty and not all recoveries have been complete.

Luxury Real Estate Records 296 High-Value Property Transactions
Knight Frank says the luxury property market has performed robustly in Dubai during the first half of 2026, with 296 deals traded for more than $10 million. But there were some purchases made prior to the most recent regional tensions, so it is essential to differentiate between the property investment continuum from the regional issues.
