PCB Central Contracts 2025-26

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released its Central Contracts for the 2025-26 season and the announcement has definitely stirred plenty of debate among fans. For the first time in multiple years, no cricketer has been selected for Category A.

This decision has shocked many supporters. Perhaps the biggest talking point is the demotion of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizan from Category A to B. Both cricketers are counted among Pakistan’s most dependable performers in recent times.

Their demotion has left fans questioning the Board’s move. Some see it as a necessary decision for seniors and others find it disrespectful for their contributions. But on the brighter side, PCB has also included 12 fresh names in the 30-member list this time.

The contract list has been expanded to 30 cricketers, compared to 27 earlier. There are 10 players in each category and the board seems to be focused on building a broader pool of talent ahead of a packed season.

Later this month, Pakistan is going up for a T20I tri-series (also featuring Afghanistan and the UAE). The matches are going to be hosted by Sharjah Cricket Stadium, one of the most prominent stadiums in the entire region.

The ACC Asia Cup, on the other hand, features eight teams. Stadiums in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are going to play host to the tournament. It is going to be a busy cricket season ahead and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is definitely up to something surprising.
