Alert at the Borders: The Manhunt for KL Airport Shooting Suspect

The Incident

In a shocking turn of events, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) became the scene of a dramatic shooting incident. Early on April 14, 2024, a suspect, later identified as Hafizul Harawi, fired shots at the airport’s Terminal 1.

Immediate Response

The Suspect

Hafizul Harawi, 38-year-old—Hafizul Harawi became the focus of a nationwide manhunt. The police believe he obtained the weapon, a 9-mm semi-automatic pistol, from a neighboring country.

The suspect was arrested in Kota Baru on April 15, 2024, at around 3 PM, marking the end of the immediate crisis.
