Lia, a member of the K-pop girl group Itzy, will be going on a break for health reasons to get some much needed rest. The young singer is facing health concerns, owing to extreme tension and anxiety, and has been advised to seek proper treatment.
JYP Entertainment, K-pop agency, announced Lia would be taking a hiatus. She will not be part of any events until she has fully recovered. It highlighted that Lia’s return will be decided by the singer herself and fellow Itzy members.
The 23-year-old took to Instagram to share a penned note with fans that she has been gradually losing herself.
“I feel like I need to take some time off to love and fill myself first. I will work to return to good health in order to repay how much MIDZY (Itzy’s fan base) waits and worries for me. Midzy worries more than anyone else even if I get a little sick, so I was worried that you would be heartbroken and upset when you heard this news.
“But at the same time, I could work up my courage because I know that you know me better than anyone else will understand, and wait for me.”
Lia, a vocalist and rapper for the girl group, said it has been six years since she joined Itzy. “I was able to come this far. It really feels like we’ve been through a lot. And of course, there were plenty of happy memories we made together.
“Those were very precious, but I realized that I was not taking care of myself because I was so focused on moving forward.”
The K-pop singer promised fans that she will return healthier than ever.
Itzy is a five-member girl group which rose to stardom in 2019 with “Dalla Dalla”. This K-pop group has emerged as one of the fastest-growing girl groups. Some of its popular songs are Icy, It’z Me, and Wannabe.
