Baby of infected mother is Covid-19 positive

A new born to a covid-19 positive mother was also diagnosed with the disease, said director-general of health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

“18 days after being born, the baby was also found to be Covid-19 positive.”

The director-general of health has not yet to confirm whether he baby was infected before or after birth.v

“We are not sure but the infection could have taken place when the baby was still in the womb but what’s definite was that there was no complication during the delivery,” he added. Dr Noor Hisham did not elaborate further on the case.
