BDO Unibank, the largest bank in the Philippines, has partnered with Hyakujushi Bank, a regional bank established in Japan, in a move that will increase BDO’s presence in the Japanese market and provide enhanced financial services to both Japanese and Filipino customers.
Under the terms of the agreement, BDO and Hyakujushi Bank will work together to provide trade financing, remittance services, and other banking products and services to clients in both countries. Also, the partnership will facilitate cross-border economic transactions and investments between Japan and the Philippines.
According to BDO President and CEO Nestor V. Tan, the cooperation with Hyakujushi Bank is a significant step in expanding BDO’s position on the Japanese market, which is a significant source of investments and remittances for the Philippines. Tan stated, “We are thrilled to work with Hyakujushi Bank to provide financial services that meet the demands of Japanese and Filipino clientele.”
Hyakujushi Bank, which is headquartered in Kagawa Prefecture in Japan, is well-known for its customer-centric approach to banking in the country’s western area. The bank is devoted to offering high-quality financial services to its customers and is eager to expand its presence in the Philippines in partnership with BDO.
President of Hyakujushi Bank Shinji Maekawa stated, “We are happy to work with BDO to provide financial services to Japanese clients with commercial interests in the Philippines. Our alliance will provide businesses and people with chances to grow their reach and achieve their financial objectives.”
It is anticipated that the relationship between BDO and Hyakujushi Bank will benefit both Japanese and Filipino clients by increasing their access to financial goods and services that fulfill their requirements. While Japan and the Philippines continue to recover from the economic burden of the COVID-19 epidemic, this relationship is viewed as a significant step toward increased economic cooperation.
