Regarding the Omnibus law on Employment Copyright Bill (Ciptaker) which is being rejected by various regions in Indonesia has forced the International Trade Union Confederation of Asia Pacific (ITUC-AP) or the confederation of international trade unions to speak up.
Secretary General Shoya Yoshida, an ITUC-AP delegate, said that he had reminded the Indonesian government of the concept of the Omnibus law on Employment Copyright Bill that was being drafted until now.
“From the beginning, we reminded us that the Omnibus Law RUU on Cipta Karya would get harsh criticism because it was carried out without adequate consultation with trade unions or trade unions,” Shoya explained in a press conference at the San Pacific Hotel, Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Wednesday ( 11/3).
On this occasion, Shoya Yoshida was accompanied by a number of high-ranking workers in Indonesia. Among them, the President of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI), Said Iqbal, and the President of the Confederation of Indonesian Prosperous Trade Unions (KSBSI), Elly Rosita Silaban.
It is known that thousands of workers from a number of trade unions who are members of the Jakarta Labor Movement have resisted this time by attacking the Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (11/3).
The Jakarta Labor Movement will ask the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan and the leadership of the DKI the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) to declare their stance against the Employment Copyright Bill (Ciptaker) which will be discussed by the DPR RI.
