Deputy Finance Minister Announces 10,000 Baht for Senior Citizens

To aid the senior citizens who are in need of financial support the Thailand government has executed a project which distributes 10,000 baht to all the senior citizens who are aged 60 years and registered through the Tang Rat application. After the successful registration the beneficiary will receive the amount at the right time which will be credited to their respective accounts via Digital Wallet. 

Deputy Finance Minister Phao Phum Rojanasakul has announced on Friday, that on January 22, 2025 the first transfer will take place and if it doesn’t go well then the money will be credited in the next three transfers which includes February 28, March 28, and April 28, 2025. ‘If the transfer is still unsuccessful, it will be considered a waiver of rights’.

Who is eligible for this?

  • The applicants must successfully registered through the application
  • Must be a senior citizen of Thai Nationality of 60 years or older as of September 15, 2024/born before or on September 16,2024
  • The income must not exceed 840,000 baht for the 2023 tax year
  • The deposit must not exceed 500,000 baht as of June 30,2024
  • One should not be in a shelter under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security as of November 30, 2024
  • Must not fall under the following four categories – convicted prisoners, inmates, detainees – according to the database of the department of corrections as of November 30, 2024
  • The individual must not be a target group receiving money under the 2024 economic stimulus program through state welfare cardholders and disabled
