Elon Musk rolls out new X Logo for Twitter

Twitter owner Elon Musk is set to replace Twitter’s iconic bird logo with ‘X’ logo. The blue bird on Twitter’s desktop version has been replaced by a new white ‘X’ logo on a black background, however, this change has not been implemented on the mobile application yet.

Early on Sunday, Elon Musk revealed his plans to rebrand Twitter. He said that X.com would now point to Twitter.com by Monday morning United States time. According to Elon Musk, “posts” will be referred to as “x’s” and “tweets” will also be replaced.

Elon Musk reportedly wants to create a “super app” called ‘X’ or the everything app. He has been talking about creating an everything app for months.

The ‘X’ logo can be the social media company‘s attempt at a brand redesign after Musk repeatedly warned that Twitter was on the verge of going out of business because of sharp declines in advertising revenue. Recently, Elon Musk announced that Twitter recorded a 50 per cent drop in advertising revenue. He further announced plans to increase ad revenues for the company.

Linda Yaccarino, who previously worked at NBCUniversal, was appointed as the new CEO of Twitter by tech billionaire Elon Musk in June. Linda Yaccarino oversees business operations at Twitter. Elon Musk and  Linda Yaccarino have repeatedly pledged to turn Twitter into “X, the everything app.”

Recently, Twitter announced that it would share advertising revenue with the creators. Musk wrote on Twitter, “You’ll soon also be paid for ads appearing when others view your profile page, approximately doubling payouts.” Evan Jones, the product manager at Twitter, also confirmed the news.
