The Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026 will be the first-ever telecast of the Eurovision format in Asia. The first one, organised in collaboration with the European Broadcasting Union, Voxovation and S2O Productions, sees the Asian Pacific region endorse national selections, live performances and popular voting for the first time.
The apparent 11 nations participating have been joined in the first edition to generate a new regional platform for leading and upcoming music talent.
When and Where Is Eurovision Asia 2026?
The first of the iconic Collaborate Grand Finals is scheduled for Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday 14th November 2026. The host venue will be the people’s favorite “IdeaLive” within the BRAVO BKK complex.
The selection of Bangkok makes the competition one of the biggest in South East Asia for entertainment. During the premier edition, the city will host a key assembly point for the attendees and participating broadcasters, performers and guests from around the world.
How Will Eurovision Asia 2026 Work?
The course of the competition is a similar one to the one developed at the European level Eurovision style. Voters in participating countries vote during national elections. The process varies depending on the broadcasters.
Professional jury scores + public voting will be used to arrive at the final result. The voting system ensures that both the music profession and the public play a role in the final selection; in addition, an audience from the host country also plays a role in the final verdict.
Which Countries Are Participating?
Eleven countries from Asia-Pacific will participate in the first Eurovision Asia lineup: The Philippines, Malaysia, Bhutan, South Korea, Thailand, Nepal, Laos, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Mongolia.
Carmelle, the winner of the nation’s national selection, “Sobra-Sobra” by Nica del Rosario and Mat Olavides, will take home the Philippines’ votes. Aina Abdul will represent Malaysia through the process of broadcasters, and Bhutan will represent Nyendra with Lhayi Semo.
Other competitors will compete in nationwide final events (September – October 2026) to select their representatives from as of yet unconfirmed countries such as South Korea, Thailand, Nepal, Laos, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Mongolia.
