Can You Verify GCash Using a Digital National ID?
Yes. The Digital National ID is accepted for GCash verification for eligible Filipino users.
The National ID is currently accepted by GCash in card, paper and digital forms. With most IDs, a scanned or copied version is not accepted, but with GCash, it is an exception when it comes to National ID formats.
The Philippine Statistics Authority, too, notes that the Digital National ID is the official digital copy of the National ID and can be used as a valid proof of identity and age, once authenticated, in government and private transactions.

How to Get Your Digital National ID First
If you are already registered with the National ID System and are waiting for your physical ID card, you don’t need to wait to verify GCash.
The PSA asserts that the registered persons can utilize their Digital National ID via eGovPH App. The electronic version is valid as the physical and paper versions.
Accessing It Through eGovPH
Install eGovPH official App and register or log in to your account. Fill out the identification requested by the app, and enable the access to Digital National ID option.

Step-by-Step: Verify GCash Using Digital National ID
Log in to your GCash account.Open the GCash app and log in to your account. Tap Profile – then select Verify Now – and then tap Get Started.
Follow the verification reminders and proceed. GCash will email you with a 6 digit authentication code to your registered number. Fill in that code, give your birthdate and confirm your Filipino citizenship if asked.
If GCash will request ID, choose National ID and follow the on-screen instructions on how to submit or scan your Digital National ID.
You will then be asked to do an “image selfie scan” and provide a selfie. Double-check the personal information that you are about to submit in the GCash app before you hit Submit.
GCash says applicants should receive an update by SMS after approximately three days.

Digital National ID Verification Failed? Try This
A common source of confusion is the selfie process.
If you are using a National ID, then you might need to do another selfie scan (GCash verification) to match your details with PSA’s National ID records, it says. This scan is in addition to the standard PSA selfie scan.
Make sure the full name, birthday and other information you enter in GCash exactly match your National ID records. This is because even personal information can be inaccurate, which can affect verification.
GCash also advises users to have a stable Internet connection. When taking the selfie, make sure your face is well visible and remove glasses, masks or caps if requested.
If verification continues to fail, GCash will suggest that you use another accepted government ID if available.
What Changes After Your GCash Account Is Verified?
Verification unlocks more of GCash’s financial services, expands the standard account limits.
As of this writing, GCash currently claims there are wallet limits for Basic Profiles of ₱10,000 and Fully Verified accounts of ₱100,000. The incoming and outgoing transaction amounts also go up, from ₱5,000 for Basic profile to ₱100,000 for a Fully Verified profile.
The user should check the account limits within the app (Profile > Profile Limits) and they may change depending on account status and other conditions.
