Indonesia Officially Joins the BRICS as a Full Member

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil has announced that the Republic of Indonesia has officially become a full member of the BRICS on Monday. The approval by the bloc leaders for the candidacy of Indonesia in 2023 has allowed the country to enter into the BRICS successfully in 2025.

“The Government of the Republic of Indonesia welcomes the announcement from Brazil as Chair of BRICS 2025, regarding Indonesia’s joining as a full member of BRICS. This achievement reflects Indonesia’s increasing active role in global issues and its commitment to strengthening multilateral cooperation to realize a more inclusive and equitable global order”, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia.

They also underscored its importance of improving their collaboration and cooperation with the other developed countries like Russia, China based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, sustainable development and more. And highlighted the pivotal factors of Indonesia which contributes majorly for their growth and diverse economy. This inclusion as a full member would aid them to encounter the upcoming challenges due to climate changes and other geo-political factors.

Indonesia’s participation in BRICS is a manifestation of the constitutional mandate to play an active role in maintaining global order”, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia.

They ensured that their consecutive contributions and participation in the BRICS Summit will continue to bridge various interests in various multilateral forums for the upliftment of global community.
