With the aim of promoting one of the highly watched sports in the world which is cricket, in the East-Asia Pacific region. The T20 series between Japan and Cook Islands has been organised in association with both the teams ahead of their ICC T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Qualifiers. 

Cook Islands?

To the cricket fans you might be new to the team ‘Cook Islands’. Let us examine their origin quickly. 

  • It is a small island country located in the South Pacific.
  • The team is governed by Cook Islands Cricket Association.
  • In 2000, they emerged as the Affiliate Member in the ICC.
  • Later, in the year 2017 they became an Associate Member of ICC.
  • Their International T20 debut was in 2022 Samoa at Port Vila.
