K-Pop Comeback Season: BTS, Lee Do-hyun, and Other Stars Return from Military in 2025

Fans of K-pop and K-drama are set to have a year to remember in 2025. Now that a number of popular celebrities have fulfilled their military duties, the sector is expected to see many big comebacks. People from all over the world has been anxious awaiting and with BTS and Lee Do-hyun back in action, things are starting to shift in Korean pop culture. These returns raise fan expectations and also result in a new wave of creativity and programming in these media industries.

Lee Do-hyun Completes Service, Eyes Acting Projects

In May 2025, Lee Do-hyun, who stars in The Glory and 18 Again, finished his 21-month duty in the Republic of Korea Air Force band. The agency handling his career, YUEHUA Entertainment Korea, has reported that many offers are coming his way and the actor is preparing for a big return to acting.

The global act BTS is approaching a major group return. Rap Monster, Jimin, V and Jungkook are all due back in June, since Jin and J-Hope have served their duty. The band has scheduled V and RM for June 10, Jungkook and Jimin for June 11 and Suga for June 21. Many believe that the event is the largest K-pop moment of 2023.

EXO’s Sehun and Other Stars Near Completion

Sehun from EXO will be released from his service by September 20, 2025. The group leader, Suho, confirmed that the whole group is considering a fan meeting soon. In September, Business Proposal star Kim Min-kyu is also set to finish his service, while Love Alarm actor Song Kang will finish a year afterward on December 1, 2025.

These actors’ comebacks mean a lot more than making fans happy—it signals new releases of music, acting and performances. With the industry on a new high, 2025 could be an excellent period for Korean pop culture internationally.
