Thailand Election Commission Announces the PAO Election Date

The local politics is heated up after the official declaration of the Thailand Election Commission regarding the upcoming PAO members and PAO President elections on February 1, 2025. According to the reports given by EC, the election will take place and will end within 45 days. The elections will be conducted for 76 PAO members and 47 PAO Presidents since the elections have already been conducted in 29 provinces.

On December 13, 2024, the EC of Thailand organised a seminar for the members of PAO and the Provincial Administrative Organization about the election process. Along with this event a special lecture has been delivered by Assoc.Prof.Santhat Siri-Ananpaoboon regarding the preparation of the election. The Secretary General of the EC, Saweng Boonmee, announced that Municipal elections will be held after these elections.

The election paper ballot has been designed and made in eight different colours in which two for the regions. The Election commission of Thailand is expecting 65 to 70 percent of votes in the upcoming elections.

On the other hand, the ruling Pheu Thai Party works hard with strategies to strengthen their power in the base. Because this could influence their future endeavours at the parliament after the end of the local elections.
