Time to Quit: Predee Leaves Kasikornbank before Accepting the Cabinet Job

Predee Daochai, co-chair of Kasikornbank and chair of the Thai Bankers’ Association, expected to become Deputy Prime Minister and at the same time serve as Finance Minister, resigned on Friday.

In related news, PTT Global Chemical Plc (PTTGC) on Friday told the Stock Exchange of Thailand of the resignation of its director Supattanapong Punmeechaow. The potential minister, now 60 years old, is an energy expert and a member of the Prime Minister ‘s team of economic advisers.

Meanwhile, Industry Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit refused to covet the energy portfolio and said he was happy to work where he was.

The Prime Minister refused to comment on Pailin Chuchottaworn, the former president of the national energy company PTT, who reportedly declined the ministerial position.

However, sources said that Chai Nat MP and Palang Pracharath Party Secretary-General Anucha Nakasai will be the new Prime Minister ‘s Office. The Labor Minister will be Chon Buri MP and Deputy Party Leader Suchart Chomklin.

Anek Laothamatas, Executive Director of the Thailand Action Coalition, will be Minister of Higher Education , Science, Research and Innovation. In fact, the government spokesperson Narumon Pinosinwat will have no position in the new cabinet.
