Dubai has been named the world’s No.1 destination in the 2024 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards, making it the first city to achieve this recognition for three consecutive years in a row.

The awards are based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and ratings posted on Tripadvisor over 12 months. Dubai surpassed other popular destinations such as Bali, London, and New York, which ranked second, third, and fourth respectively.

The Appeal

Dubai’s appeal lies in its diversity and dynamism, as it offers something for every traveler, from its rich culture and heritage, to its stunning architecture and attractions, to its vibrant nightlife and entertainment, to its world-class shopping and dining.

Dubai also boasts of its safety and hospitality, as well as its resilience and innovation, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which it managed to contain and overcome. Dubai also hosted the postponed Expo 2020, which showcased its achievements and vision to the world.

Here are five reasons why Dubai is the best destination in the world, according to Tripadvisor reviewers:

The Appreciation

Dubai’s tourism authorities have expressed their gratitude and pride for the award, which they said reflects the city’s ambition and leadership, as well as the satisfaction and loyalty of its visitors.

They also said that the award motivates them to continue enhancing Dubai’s tourism offerings and experiences, and to maintain its position as a global tourism hotspot. They also thanked their partners and stakeholders, including the government, the private sector, and the community, for their support and collaboration.
