Turkey’s Parliament speaker meets ASEAN representatives in Ankara

ANKARA – Turkey’s parliament speaker on Monday met the envoy of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in the Turkish capital city, Ankara.

ASEAN Ankara Committee (AAC), Mustafa Sentop in the meeting, reiterates the importance of international cooperation and solidarity to better fight the threat of the coronavirus pandemic crisis.

Sentop added that this crisis showed us that an understanding of caring for the world and the people should be at the forefront.

The statement came before the rotation of the AAC presidency to the ambassador of the Philippines.

Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam Mohammad Shafiee bin Haji Kassim, Ambassador of the Philippines Raul S. Hernandez, Cambodia’s Charge d’Affaires Sophea Heng, Malaysian Embassies’ Charge d’Affaires Arhan Shah Anuar, Singapore’s Ambassador Jonathan Tow Shen Han, Thai Ambassador Phantipha Lamsudha Ekarohit and Vietnamese Ambassador Tran Quang Tuyen also attended the meeting. There are currently 7 Turkish embassy in the Asean member states which is also from the ASEAN Ankara Committee (AAC).
