Why Is the New Netflix Family Drama “Asura” Getting More Attention? An Overview

Netflix is popular globally for presenting varieties of stories from diverse parts of the world with no compromise in delivering the banger entertainment to its subscribers. The Asian web-series and movies are welcomed and celebrated for its home flavour & alluring cinematography with metaphors. This week on January 9, 2025 Netflix released a Japanese family drama “Asura” of seven episodes. 

Now, the series is getting good reviews and attention for its excellent story narration and the staging of every scene. This series is based on a novel titled ‘Like Asura’ by Mukoda Kuniko and the main plot set in 1979, revolves around the four sisters who are completely diverse in characters and are shocked to know the secret affair of their father for more than decades. When the story progresses they confess their controlled emotions all these years and their untold stories with the family and more. The series is wrapped with love, loss and life.

Beautiful blend of family secrets, cultural significance, balancing the two pillar emotions of the series humour and seriousness, hard-hitting emotions are the pivotal factors that resonated with the global audience.
